The Fly Fishing Academy
Our Private Fly Fishing Classes, Lessons, and Instruction are held at the Guadalupe River for a realistic learning experience.
"Fly Fishing 101" is for first timers and beginners. We learn three different, basic casts. We also learn to read the water, knot tying, river access points, fly selection and more. (We provide all equipment)
"Fly Fishing 201" is the next step for experienced fly fishers who already have basic skills and some experience. We start with a brief review of the basic skills taught in the "Fly Fishing 101 Class" and build on the foundation. We learn long distance casting by single and double "hauling," specialty knots, rigging up, technical nymphing, mending, and more.
